About Us
Cullen Car Parts was
first established in 1965 by Des Cullen. Later his two brothers Brendan and Tony
branched off and formed the other two breaker yards on the Green hills road. People
often lump us together as 'the Cullen's' but we are the original car dismantlers
and the only one that trades by the name Cullen i.e. Cullen Car Parts.
The business has seen a large transformation over recent years namely because of
the End of Life Vehicle (ELV) European Directive 1996. This directive effectively
forces all car dismantlers to dispose of vehicles in an environmentally friendly
way. The process involves draining the vehicle of all hazardous fluids that are
then separated and tanked.
After the de-pollution process the car is ready to be dismantled. Our computerised
inventory system tells us what parts we need to take off any given model
based on demand and existing stock. After entry parts are then labelled and shelved
ready for sale.
A principal goal of Cullen car parts and something that sets us apart
from our competitors is that 90% of parts are on the shelf as opposed to the stock
piling method of car bodies adapted by other dismantlers. Our database shows
frequently that we have some 30,000 parts ready to be sold at any moment in time.
